After retiring to live in a country setting, the homeowners decided this 1970’s kitchen needed to retire too. Removing the confining U-shaped kitchen and creating a kitchen that flowed into the great room, was the best solution for the life style of the homeowners. The maple cabinetry was finished in Antique Linen with a pewter glaze to give that clean French Country feel. We also installed a Low-E glass sliding door to allow more natural lighting to a previously dark space.
This couple loved their home, but not the light toned wood and tile counter tops in the kitchen. We enlarged the island adding more storage, including a wine refrigerator. The sleek granite set off the warm rich tone of the cherry cabinetry. We added more overhead as well as under cabinet lighting to the kitchen to keep it bright and inviting.
